Cyber security in 2030

 The cybersecurity landscape is expected to change significantly by 2030 due to technological advancements and emerging threats. Some predictions for the future of cybersecurity include: 

AI: AI will be used to anticipate and predict cyber threats, and to automatically respond to  security incidents.

Secure alternatives:  Outdated code will be replaced with secure alternatives, and passwords may be eliminated in favor of facial recognition software.

New strategies: New strategies will be developed to protect against threats, such as stricter data protection regulations, and more secure hardware and software.

Cyber-risk acceptance: Cybersecurity will focus more on resilience and recovery, rather than defending against cyber-risk.

Cybersecurity education: Cybersecurity will be taught more widely in primary schools. 

Cryptocurrency regulation: Cryptocurrencies will be more effectively regulated.

 Other factors that may impact cybersecurity by 2030 include:

  • Quantum computing, which may increase the capabilities of both hackers and defenders
  • The proliferation of inexpensive tools for cyber criminals
  • The emergence of synthetic image generators
  • Fractures in global internet governance
